What You Need to Know About Visiting Sanrio Puroland
I’ve been a fan of Sanrio since I was a kid, so I couldn’t wait to finally visit Puroland! As a first timer, it was a bit overwhelming even when I had done research in advance. We spent a little over half a day there, but there’s still so much we need to see and do!

Buy your tickets two months in advance! Tickets sell out quickly and the best way to secure your spot is to check the Puroland website for when tickets will be released.
Get there early! We arrived right when the park opened and there was already a big crowd! It took us 30 min to get through security and have our tickets scanned.
If you want to catch the parades, try to purchase reserved tickets in advance! Unfortunately they were sold out when we got there. We were able to find a free standing room area, but our view of the parade wasn’t great.
When you arrive, ask the staff for a brochure that has a QR code you can scan to reserve a slot to meet the Sanrio characters! If you are traveling with multiple people, you can each reserve a time for your group per phone. The time slots run out for the day as early as within an hour and a half from opening, so do this right away!
The wait times for the two rides get quite long, so I recommend purchasing a Puropass (aka Fastpass) at the kiosks by the Sanrio Characters Boat Ride and the My Melody Mymeroad Drive. It’s only ¥1000 ($6) for individual tickets or ¥2000 ($12) for a group of 2-4 people.
Once you get into the park, there are no strollers allowed. We also forgot our baby carrier so we were struggling all day.
There is a really nice baby center on the first floor of the park where you can change diapers, nurse, or feed your children.
Save the shopping for the end of the trip! It’s super crowded no matter what time you go, so it’s better to shop when you’re leaving so you don’t have to hold everything all day.
