The Salvation Army's Finding A Way Home Gala

Disclosure: The Salvation Army provided me with two complimentary tickets to attend the Finding A Way Home Gala. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The Salvation Army invited me to their Finding A Way Home Gala, and what an inspiring evening getting to honor Sarah Michelle Gellar’s amazing work with all of the various charities she partners with, which ranges from education on food security, to building houses!

The gala took place at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel which was such a beautiful venue! It was fun getting to dress up with Kev.

We loved running into our friends Hawaii and Christian while we were there! They both looked so fabulous!

I had the opportunity to meet Sarah Michelle Gellar after she did press on the red carpet - she was so kind and truly such a beautiful soul inside and out. She received the Judge Harry Pregerson Award which honors those who model The Salvation Army and Judge Harry Pregerson’s collaborative efforts to innovatively mobilize local resources in the spirit of Doing the Most Good for Los Angeles.

We also met the lovely Carrie Bernans who was sitting at our table! She was in some of our favorite films so we were totally geeking out!

For dinner, we had the sea bass and tenderloin with green beans and couscous, and for dessert, we had a caramel tart. Both dishes were delicious!

It was heartwarming to see so many people donating and raising funds to help those who are experiencing homelessness in our Los Angeles community. Something that means a lot to me is seeing The Salvation Army’s commitment particularly to the unhoused LGBTQ+ community, and I learned that they support through providing housing, food, counseling, community, employment, and emotional care regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, or sexual orientation. I look forward to seeing how The Salvation Army continues to support the LGBTQ+ community through their work!

If you feel inclined and are able to, please consider donating to The Salvation Army here which helps provide homelessness relief to those in need across Southern California and beyond.
