Willkommen to the Kit Kat Klub! | Altadena Music Theatre's "Cabaret"

Welcome to the Kit Kat Klub! My friend Melissa and I checked out Altadena Music Theatre for the first time to see their production of Cabaret!

Altadena Music Theatre is female-owned and operated and is a non-profit enriching the Los Angeles community through live musical theatre, arts advocacy, and developmental youth programs. Please check out the show and help support this amazing company!

I always love dressing up to the theme of the shows we’re watching (my friend Katie created a #dressedforbroadway community!), and I loved putting together this 1920s inspired look. Melissa helped me with my makeup, and I’m obsessed with this smokey eye and dark lipstick combo!

This show takes place in a Berlin nightclub as the 1920s draw to a close and tells the tale of two love stories and the impact that politics and society has on their relationships. Everything can change so quickly, but so many detrimental aspects remain if we are complacent and don't shine a light.

Ticket prices start at $35, and the show is playing at Farnsworth Park (568 Mount Curve Ave East, Altadena, CA 91001) on Thursdays through Sundays now until 6/4. The performance length is 2 hours and 30 minutes, including one 15 minute intermission.

There is an ample amount of free street parking along Mount Curve Ave, Lake Ave, and Marengo Ave. The entrance to the amphitheater is closest to Mount Curve Ave. Please note that there are also quite a bit of stairs so be careful as you make your way down into the theatre.

Doors open at 7pm and seating is general admission so definitely get there early. Bring blankets and jackets - the venue is outdoors so it does get a little chilly out, but it’s a fun experience to watch the show under the stars!

For a local community theatre, this production was top notch and Broadway caliber! I loved the attention to detail - from the costuming, to the choreography, and even to the perfection of the different dialects used within the show. The theatre felt intimate and I enjoyed how immersive the experience was.

Cruz St. James was captivating and phenomenal as the Emcee. His facial expressions were so animated and his voice is out of this world!

My super talented friends Emily Lopez and Michael Thomas Grant star as Sally Bowles and Cliff Bradshaw, and it made me so happy to see them shine in these roles!

The show is produced by Sarah Azcarate, directed by Oliver Azcarate and Sarah Azcarate, choreographed by Melissa Schade, with music direction by Chris Wade. The rest of the cast includes Altadena locals Craig Wright and Ursula Gueringer as Herr Schultz and Fraulein Schneider, Skye Marie Sena as Fraulein Kost and Sean York as Ernst Ludwig. Rounding out the Kit Kat Klub are Lindy Jones, Molly Fowler, Abigail Loucks, Jacqueline Dennis, Bimei Flores, Jeannette Sharp Oakes, Zachariah Griffin, Avery Bass, Cole Elliot and Sebastian Twohey-Jacobs.

The entire cast absolutely killed it and you’re not going to want to miss this special limited engagement! You can grab your tickets to the show here!

It was so great reuniting with Emily and Michael after a few years! I loved getting to see them perform again - it had been way too long!
