Eight HSM Photo Spots You Don't Want to Miss When Visiting East High | High School Musical

Wildcats in the house! Make sure to bookmark this post for the eight can’t miss High School Musical photo spots at East High (840 S 1300 E, Salt Lake City, UT 84102)!

1. Commons Area - This is where they filmed the “Stick To the Status Quo,” “What Time Is It?” and “I Want It All” numbers!

2. Hallways - Many of the “What Time Is It?” scenes were filmed here.

3. Leopard Statue - This is East High’s mascot which played the famous Wildcat in the films.

4. Display Case - As soon as you enter the school, don’t miss some of the HSM memorabilia on display.

5. Sharpay’s Lockers - Yes, they are still kept pink from the films!

6. Gym - Unfortunately this was closed for sports tryouts when we went (so no photos from us!) but this is where they filmed musical numbers like “Get’cha Head In the Game,” “We’re All In This Together,” and “Now or Never”!

7. Auditorium - This was also closed when we went, but this auditorium is used for scenes in HSM3. (Fun fact: “What I’ve Been Looking For” and “Breaking Free” auditorium scenes were filmed at another local high school - Murray High School which is also in Salt Lake City.)

8. Front of East High School - Make sure to get your iconic jumping shot here! This was used in all three films and in the HSMTMTS show.

East High School is open for self-guided tours on school days (Mondays through Fridays) from 3:30-6pm. Make sure to stop by the office when you arrive to grab a souvenir map that will show you where all these locations are!
