Two Months with Baby L

We bibbidi-bobbidi-blinked and can’t believe we’ve already had our sweet miracle baby for two whole months! We celebrated by dressing up our princess as Cinderella and Kev and I were Gus Gus and Jaq!

These are some of the updates and lessons we learned from this past month:

Adjusting My Diet
I’ve had to cut out dairy from my diet because we found out that my breast milk was causing L to have a firm tummy and stiffness in her back after feedings. We’re monitoring things closely to see if things improve over the next few weeks.

Sleep Training
We’re continuing to work on sleep training and have gotten to a point now where L wakes up twice in the middle of the night for on demand feedings. Learning to breast feed while laying in bed has made this process so much easier for me.

Feeding Schedule
While we tried to stick to a regimented feeding schedule, we learned quickly that it wasn’t working for our lifestyle so we have adjusted to L’s hunger cues as we go.

Burp Cloths
Even though we have a bunch of burp cloths laying around all over the house, one always seems to disappear when we need it most!

It Takes a Village
As someone who hates asking for help, I’m starting to shamelessly lean on our community when we need some extra hands with L. I’ll be honest that I miss having time to dissociate from reality, so I’m grateful for everyone’s generosity as it allows small breaks for us both physically and mentally.
