The Secret Garden Musical Opening Night at the Ahmanson Theatre

Disclosure: Center Theatre Group provided us with two complimentary tickets to The Secret Garden opening night. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Unlock the magic within! It was such an enchanting evening at the Ahmanson Theatre for opening night of The Secret Garden! This musical blossoms again for a new generation with this revival production premiere based on the novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett of the same name.

If you’ve never been to the Ahmanson Theatre before, it’s one of my favorite places to see live theatre! It’s located in Downtown LA at 135 N Grand Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90012.

Self-parking is available in the Music Center Garage for $10 at the Grand Ave entrance. I recommend getting to the theatre at least half an hour before show time!

I absolutely loved this beautiful photo op located in the lobby of the theatre! Try to get there early before the crowds arrive and a long line forms - it’s a popular spot!

Ticket prices for The Secret Garden range from $40 to $155 and the show is playing Tuesdays through Sundays now through 3/26. The performance length is 2 hours and 20 min, including one 15 min intermission.

I had no idea what to expect going into it, and I was absolutely blown away by the amazing cast and beautiful set design! My best friend has always raved about how much she loves Sierra Boggess, and I’m so glad I finally got to see her perform live - she has the voice of an angel! I also enjoyed seeing Julia Lester as Martha, Emily Jewel Hoder as Mary Lennox, and John-Michael Lyles as Dickon, and I know there are so many more I’ve missed - this entire cast is truly delightful to watch!

Afterward, we were treated to a VIP after party at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion just across the plaza from the Ahmanson Theatre. It was a treat to meet Jason Earles, Matt Cornett, and Adrian Lyles from High School Musical: The Musical: The Series who were there to support their fellow castmate, Julia Lester! They were all super kind and I’m so grateful they snapped a quick photo with me.

It was so great to see and catch up with my friends Liz and Tiff who were there too! It’s been so long since I had seen both of them!

I also loved spending time with my beautiful friend Melissa! We’ve really bonded over our love for theatre and it’s always so lovely to see her at Center Theatre Group events.

A huge thank you to Center Theatre Group for having me and Kev, and for always taking such good care of us at these events! Be sure to grab your tickets to The Secret Garden here!
