Sondheim’s “Old Friends” Opening Night at the Ahmanson Theatre

Center Theatre Group invited me to opening night of Sondheim’s Old Friends and I was so excited to see this one after wanting to catch it while we were in London back in 2023 (but we couldn’t make it work with our travel schedule)!

About the show:

Celebrate the life and work of the great Stephen Sondheim, with an irresistible company headlined by none other than Tony Award winners Bernadette Peters and Lea Salonga. Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends comes to the Ahmanson from London’s West End, where it earned a bevy of 5-star raves and was hailed by The Times as “unmissable musical theatre.”

Ticket prices start at $52 and the show is playing at the Ahmanson Theatre (135 N Grand Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90012) Tuesdays through Sundays now through 3/9. The performance length is 2 hours and 30 min with one 15 min intermission. The show is recommended for ages 10 and up.

Self-parking is available in the Music Center garage for $10 at the Grand Ave entrance. I recommend getting to the theatre at least half an hour before show time!

It was an honor getting to witness the talents of both Bernadette Peters and Lea Salonga in person - I was completely blown away by their voices and stage presence! This entire cast is absolutely incredible and it was fun getting to journey through Sondheim’s work in this show. Be sure to catch it in LA before it makes its way to Broadway in late March!

Huge thank you to Center Theatre Group for having me!
